Sutton Scholars Program
The Sutton Scholars Program teaches children to be confident, competent individuals by providing them with these skills. They will help children become better students and adults. The program also introduces global interaction and understanding, and provides athletic exercise. Scholars participate in cultural experiences such as opera and classical music as well as field trips to theaters, museums and a nature camp.
The four-week program operates Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM It serves nutritious meals daily and offers pre- and post-assessment of skills and attitudes, requires parent/caregiver involvement, includes trained teachers and mentors, and follows the scholars from 9th through 12th grades.
The program may serve as a model for other programs in the state and across the nation. It affords an opportunity to help all our children succeed in school and life to be contributing citizens wherever they may live.
